Guardian of Childhood – John Wishom

John Wishom, public safety officer, reflects on what it means to him to be a guardian of childhood. St. Louis Children’s Hospital not only serves the children of St. Louis, but children all across the world. SLCH has served patients from all 50 states and more than 80 countries. John goes the extra mile to make children from all over the world who come to the hospital feel more comfortable by going out of his way to learn new languages.

The Guardians of Childhood is an initiative through St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri that helps every kid be and stay healthy through a variety of programs. A key priority of the Guardians of Childhood is to discover better treatments and find cures for childhood illnesses and diseases. Thanks to innovative partnerships and generous donors, we are shaping the future of pediatric medicine.
